How do we work?

We have kept diversity in mind when designing our programme. It is important to us that everyone here finds an activity that matches their interests and a pace of development suited to their abilities. We are working to ensure that young people are given the opportunity for personal development that the formal education system does not provide, whilst also ensuring they gain as many experiences and positive affirmations as possible – things they rarely have access to.

One of our most fundamental educational principles is the child-centred approach.
Accordingly, our staff always bear in mind the children’s personal development, as well as their own ongoing professional development, which also serves the children’s best interests.

How do we work?

Personal development

At Élmény Tár, we work to strengthen the children’s positive self-image and help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves. We believe it is important for them to experience the joy of creativity and the sense of „I can do it too” in a safe, supportive environment where they can develop positive coping strategies.

Promoting community engagement

Our programmes help children to discover the power of teamwork, to see diversity as an asset, and to learn how to resolve conflicts constructively and non-violently. They also learn about the importance of social responsibility whilst actively taking part in community initiatives.

Success at school, skills and abilities development

We help children to cope more easily with the challenges of everyday school life and to understand the curriculum better. Our aim is to foster a commitment to learning and the importance of knowledge, to help them recognise their talents and interests, whilst enabling them to plan and shape their own life paths. In this way, we help to prevent early school leaving and make them more confident in their school lessons too.
